The Bearcats scored three second half goals to defeat the Bridges of Brooklyn College, 4-0, in a conference match up on Saturday afternoon at the Met Oval in the Maspeth section of Queens.

The victory gives the Bearcats three wins and one tie in their last four matches overall, as they move into a second place tie in the conference standings.

The men's team started by scoring their first goal just 5:46 into the contest on a header by senior Camilo Reyes. Sophomore Sean Dickenson, who had entered the match as a substitute only a few seconds earlier, started the action with a strong run on the right flank and delivered a perfect cross that Reyes headed past the goalkeeper for a quick 1-0 advantage.

The Bearcats broke it wide open in the second half as junior Valiantsin Kirykovich, the current CUNYAC Player of the Week, scored the team's second goal off an unprotected rebound inside the box. The goal, which was scored just two minutes into the second half, was Kirykovich's third of the season.

The Bearcats kept up the intensity against Brooklyn's defense with Kirykovich sending a through ball to freshman Dominick Cinquemani for his fourth goal of the season and a 3-0 lead at 78:23.

Senior Nick Shnayderman finished the rout via a penalty kick goal with two minutes remaining in the conference match.

Brooklyn, which entered the afternoon as the #10 ranked team in the Metro region, struggled offensively all afternoon and were limited to five total shots in the second half.

Azed Kaferov finished with eight saves for Brooklyn College.

The Bearcats will return to action Monday night with a make up non-conference home match against Manhatttanville College, which is scheduled for 8:00 pm at the Met Oval.

The match was previously scheduled to be played on September 6, but was postponed due to Tropical Storm Hanna.
