The Lightning of Lehman College defeated the visiting Bearcats, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon at south field on the campus of Lehman College.

The Lightning overcame an early 3-1 deficit against Baruch by scoring the final five runs of the game to clinch the series sweep. 

The Bearcats took the early 3-1 advantage with a run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth.

Ramon Grullon (Brooklyn, N.Y./Murry Bergtraum) had an RBI single to score David Chestnut (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) in the fourth. 

Chestnut had his own RBI single in the fifth inning to score Greg Polius (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Mary’s), while Juan Adorno (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows) scored a run on a fielding error by Lehman.

Lehman rallied with three runs on four hits in their bottom half of the sixth inning to improve their record to 13-9 overall and 8-4 in CUNYAC, which clinches a conference tournament playoff berth. 

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday with a 3:30 pm non-conference single game at Farmingdale State University in Long Island.
