Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Women's Tennis Drops Regular-Season Finale at Stockton, CUNYAC Playoffs Start Tuesday

The women's tennis team finished their fall regular season schedule with a 10-1 record after dropping a 6-3 non-conference match to Stockton University on Sunday afternoon.

The visiting Bearcats made the trip down to Southern New Jersey to play one of the stronger teams in region but had a tough loss winning only one of the three doubles and two of the six singles.

Ava Deguzman won her 42nd career #1 singles encounter with a 6-0, 6-3 score.

Aishika Yadav continues her brilliant rookie season winning her second singles, 6-4, 6-1, and combined with Erica Sheludenko to win at second doubles 8-6 to account for two of the team's three points today.

The Bearcats will now turn their focus to the CUNYAC Championship Tournament that gets underway on Tuesday with a semifinal match against Lehman College. Please note this playoff match at the U.S. National Tennis Center is now scheduled to begin at the revised time of 3:00 p.m. 

The winner of Tuesday's match will play the other semifinal winner between Hunter vs John Jay College on Thursday in the Final.
