Men's Tennis Defeats John Jay, Advance to 12th Straight CUNYAC Final

The men's tennis team defeated the Bloodhounds of John Jay College, 5-0, in a CUNYAC Championship Semifinal Match played Sunday afternoon at the Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

The Bearcats advance to their 12th straight CUNYAC Final on Thursday, May 2, at 3:00 p.m. to play Brooklyn College for the Title and NCAA Berth. 

The Bearcats started strong winning all three doubles and the third and sixth singles for the 5-0 victory. Per post-season rules, the match was stopped when the winning team earned their fifth point in the best-of-nine match.

Juan Paredes and Nicholas Santiago won a very tough and long encounter at first doubles, 8-6.

Reda Ljazouli earned the fifth team point in sixth singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
