Dr. Erin Pomykala

Dr. Erin Pomykala is in her sixth year as the Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Finance.
 
Pomykala's duties at Baruch focus on strategic planning, budget development, implementation and monitoring of personnel decisions, implementing and overseeing departmental budgetary policies and procedures, preparing budgets, reviewing revenues, disbursements, maintaining a variety of specialized and recurring accounting reports, coordinating financial and budget special projects, coordinating the extraction of data for financial reports studies, surveys and projects and advising the athletic department on short and long-term budget strategies. 

Pomykala previously spent six years (2011-2017) working in the athletic department at Sarah Lawrence College (SLC) in Bronxville, New York. 

She was in charge of managing day-to-day facility operations at SLC, including serving as the primary contact for rentals, coordinating varsity practices, and supervising maintenance of the Campbell Sports Center.

She also served as the Assistant Director of Physical Education, administering the College's physical education classes, including scheduling courses, managing student records and overseeing the development and assessment of the physical education curriculum.

Pomykala had been a part of the department at SLC since taking on her former role as Administrative Assistant in 2011. In addition to directing managerial tasks around the sports center, she took the helm of the Gryphons' women's soccer program, cultivating it from a club program into the College's 15th varsity sport.

She also served for five years as the Head Coach of the men's and women's cross-country teams.

In 2013, Pomykala led the Gryphon women to a fourth-place cross country finish in the team's final season in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The team had four championship medalists and two All-Conference honorees. The SLC men took fifth place with two medalists and one All-Conference runner.

The 2014 season saw the Gryphons make their debut in the Skyline Conference. After being ranked eighth in the coaches' preseason poll, the SLC women stunned the league with a fourth-place championship finish. The men's team also surpassed expectations with an eighth-place finish in the conference.

In 2015, women's cross country collected its first Skyline trophy with a runner-up finish at the league championship, finishing 36th among all teams from New York and New Jersey.

A Port Monmouth N.J. native, Pomykala is a graduate of Castleton State College (Castleton, VT), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Administration.

She earned a Master of Education from Springfield College (Springfield, MA), and earned her Doctorate of Education with a concentration in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University in St. Louis.

In addition to playing lacrosse as an undergraduate, she coached the sport at the high school level before taking a position teaching physical education at The King's School in Canterbury, England. She was also the first-ever women's lacrosse coach at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
Pomykala lives in Keyport, N.J., with her husband, Jay.
