The men's and women's cross country teams competed on Saturday at the St. Joseph's Invitational  at Sunken Meadow State Park on Long Island.

The regional meet was one of the biggest of the season with over 170 runners in each race.

The women placed in 16th place at the race, while the men were 20th against strong regional competition as they continue preparations in two weeks for the CUNYAC Finals at Van Cortlandt Park.

Rookie Paz Moran led the women's squad again with a 12th place finish in the 5K race with a time of 21:23.0. Guadalupe Valle was next best again finishing in 92nd place with a time of 27:29.4.

Today's times for Paz and Talia were all personal bests.

Jose Perez was tops for the men in 14th place in the 8K race with a time of 20:09.4.

Joshua Joyner placed in 86th place with a time of 33:30.1.

POINTS SCORING SYSTEM: Please note in cross country team scoring that only the first five runners that finish for a team count towards the team's total points. Therefore, if a team places runners in 3, 9, 10, 12, and 23rd places, it totals 57 points when adding the top five finishes. The team with the lowest point total wins the race. If a team does not have five runners in the race, they do not count toward the team scoring.
