Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Bearcats Fall in Season Opener to Divison I Wagner College

The men's tennis team began their 2023-24 schedule taking on the Division I program at Wagner College on Staten Island.

The Seahawks defeated the visiting Bearcats 7-0 in a match with Division I rules where the best out of three doubles winner earned one team point, while the six singles were worth one point each.

The #1 doubles duo of Juan Mendoza and Nicholas Santiago narrowly lost a tough encounter 7-5.

The #2 doubles duo of Tuna Nergizoglu and Jordan Hernandez lost with a competitive score of 6-3.

In the singles competition, Mendoza lost in a tie-breaker at #1 with scores of 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 4-6. 
         
Santiago played a tough third singles but fell with scores of 6-1, 6-3.
