Women's Basketball Head Into Break on Winning Note, Defeat King's of Pennsylvania

The women's basketball team defeated the Monarchs from King's College of Pennsylvania, 56-45, in a non-conference home game on Tuesday evening in the ARC Arena.
 
The Bearcats played a strong defensive game holding their opponents to 30 percent shooting as the Monarchs connected on just 18 of their 61 shots.  
 
Maintaining a lead throughout the entire game, the Bearcats also showcased their defense by holding the Monarchs to only two successful three-pointers out of the 17 they attempted. The defense also forced 25 turnovers leading to an impressive 20 points.

Offensively, Mia Castillo was top scorer of the game with 29 points, nine rebounds, six blocks and four steals. Elissa Leung (13 points) also carried the Bearcats' offensively with 13 points as the team recorded their sixth win of their season. 

Brenna Castillo led the visitors with 12 points.
 
The Bearcats will play next on Friday, December 29, against Nazareth College in the Nazareth Classic in Rochester, New York.
