Women's Basketball Competes at Holiday Tournament in Rochester, NY

The women's basketball team lost a tough contest to the Wildcats from SUNY Poly, 65-54, in a holiday contest of the Sandy DeWolf McCormack Memorial Holiday Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Rochester, New York.

The Bearcats fell behind at halftime 40-25 but started the third quarter strong cutting the deficit to 51-45.

The Wildcats stormed back in the fourth quarter scoring the first nine points to jump ahead 60-45 and kept their momentum to seal the non-conference win in the classic hosted by Nazareth College.

Mia Castillo led the Bearcats with 25 points, 11 steals, and eight rebounds in an almost sensational triple-double effort.

D'Andre McRae was next best with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Alivia Turk was tops for the opponent with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

The first half of the schedule is now complete and the focus will turn to the rest of the way to CUNYAC, which resumes on Wednesday, January 3, with a 5:30 p.m. home contest against Brooklyn College.
