Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Wins Third Straight Game

The women's basketball team defeated the Panthers from SUNY Old Westbury, 65-36, in a non-conference contest on Monday night on Long Island.

The visiting Bearcats used solid defense (20 steals) to force 39 turnovers and turned them into 34 points in the victory. 

They outscored the Panthers 19-11 in the second quarter to lead 32-19 at halftime en route to their third straight win of the season.  

Mia Castillo came up big again with a double-double of 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals.   

Elissa Leung totaled 18 points and tied a career-high with six steals, while D'Andre McRae totaled 10 points and eight rebounds.  

Phalan Smith was tops for the Panthers with 10 points and 18 rebounds. 

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday when they travel to Connecticut to play Albertus Magnus College in New Haven.
