Women's Tennis Wins Season Opener!

The women's tennis team started their fall schedule with a season-opening victory against Yeshiva University in a match played on Friday morning in Tenafly, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats won two of the three doubles and four of the six singles to record the 6-3 victory.

Ava Deguzman won her first singles (6-0, 6-0) and first doubles (8-0) encounter with Esther Benjamin without surrendering a point.

Benjamin (6-1, 6-1) also won at third singles, while Erica Scheludenko won at second singles (6-1, 6-0) and combined with Shanae Love to win second doubles (8-3).

Love in her debut took the fourth set 6-3, 6-2.

The Bearcats will resume action next Thursday at St. Joseph's College (Patchogue) of Long Island at 5:00 p.m.
