More Baruch Tennis History! Men Post First-Ever ITA Regional Wins!

DAY 2

The great results keep on coming for the men's tennis team at the ITA Regionals hosted this weekend by Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.

Juan Mendoza is quickly showing why he was seeded among the top players in the Northeast United States as he won his second round match 8-1 against his opponent from Union College. 

He advanced to play an opponent from RPI in the Sweet 16 but lost a tough encounter 4-6, 6-4, 3-6. 

Tuna Nergizoglu had a solid match but fell in the second round to his opponent 8-3 from the University of Rochester. 

DAY 1

The firsts keep on coming for the Baruch tennis programs.

Last weekend, the women's tennis program led by Ava Deguzman and Aishika Yadav played for the first time ever in the prestigious intercollegiate ITA Regionals in Geneva, New York.

This weekend, it was the men's competition turn and the Bearcats captured wins in their first round singles matches, another Baruch first!

Tuna Nergizoglu won his first round singles encounter 8-1 defeating his opponent from FDU Florham.

Juan Mendoza came into this weekend's regional competition seeded, which is another Baruch tennis program first, and he won a hard-fought contest against his opponent from Saint Lawrence University, 8-5, in an exciting comeback.

Both Tuna and Juan dropped a tough first round doubles match to Vassar, 8-1.
