The men's tennis team defeated the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College of Patchogue, 9-0, in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon.
The victory helps the squad improve their early season record to 3-1.
The Bearcats started strong with
Juan Paredes and
Nicholas Santiago winning at first doubles, 8-1.
The team then put on strong performances in singles with
Tuna Nergizoglu (#1, 6-4, 6-0),
Liam Cooper (#4, 6-0, 6-1),
Reda Ljazouli (#5, 6-0, 6-0), and
Steven Margolis (#6, 6-1, 6-3) each winning on a warm and comfortable afternoon on Long Island.
The Bearcats are now 7-1 in their last eight matches against Division III competition.Â
The squad will return to Long Island on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. match at Farmingdale State College.
