Women's Basketball Finishes Runner Up at 2023-24 ECAC Division III Championship

The women's basketball team lost a tough contest 74-50 to the Road Runners of Ramapo College on Sunday afternoon at neutral site Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.

The Road Runners from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) started the contest leading 18-9 after the first quarter shooting 7-of-18 from the field and limited the Bearcats to three field goals.

The Bearcats tried to battle back, but went down 35-19 halftime as the Road Runners continued their momentum.

The Road Runners put the game out of reach leading by as much as 44-22 in the third quarter to win the ECAC Championship.

The runner up trophy is the first Baruch women's basketball post-season trophy won outside of the CUNY Athletic Conference.

Mia Castillo led all scorers with 28 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, and two assists. Elissa Leung finished with 12 points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Both Mia and Elissa were named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team.

Jackie Ventricelli led the Road runners with 20 points.

The Bearcats finish the season with a 17-12 record, their most wins since the 2014-15 season.
