Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Now 2-0, Defeat Sarah Lawrence

The women's basketball team went on the road Saturday afternoon to defeat Sarah Lawrence College 72-58 in Bronxville, New York.

The Bearcats started strong jumping out to a 19-14 lead after the first quarter and dominated the second quarter 26-8 to build a 45-22 halftime advantage.

Sarah Lawrence came back in the third quarter scoring 10 of the first 12 points but the Bearcats never let their lead slip under 15 points the rest of the quarter. 

The fourth quarter started with the Bearcats increasing their lead to 26 points (72-46) with 5:21 left. Sarah Lawrence ended the game scoring 12 straight points for the 72-58 result in the first-ever contest between the two teams.

Mia Castillo scored 34 points yesterday against Yeshiva and today scored 38 against Sarah Lawrence. She also recorded a career-high 14 steals!

Elissa Leung scored 14 points with four steals and D'Andre McRae scored 10 points and 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Angela Bacarella also had a solid game with six assists and five rebounds.

Kendall Haymore led Sarah Lawrence with 28 points (11-14 fg) and seven rebounds.
