Mia Castillo Scores 1,000th Career Point in Non-Conference Contest at Centenary

The women's basketball team lost 67-42 to Centenary University in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

The highlight of the contest was junior Mia Castillo scoring her 1,000th career point with a lay up at 1:30 of the second quarter. She is the 16th player in team history to reach the milestone.

The visiting Bearcats played a strong first two quarters trailing only 32-28 at halftime but they struggled in the third quarter and were outscored 22-8 to fall behind the rest of the game.

Castillo finished with 21 points and four steals. Precious Mitchell was next best with six points.

Centenary scored on 10-of-15 baskets in their big third quarter and were led by Brie Opdyke with 24 points.
