Softball Sweeps Yeshiva in Non-Conference Doubleheader

On Tuesday, the softball team went on the road to record a pair of victories against Yeshiva University in games played at the Fordham University softball complex in the Bronx.

In the first game, Carly Quint pitched three scoreless, no-hitter innings with seven strikeouts. Melanie Robles pitched two innings with no hits allowed and two strikeouts.

Megan Bell (3-of-5, 2 RBI), Leilani Jimenez (3-for-4, 3 runs), and Meenakshi Mugrai (3-for-4, 1 run) had the big at-bats as the Bearcats won 17-0 in five innings.

In the second game, Caroline Gallagher pitched a complete game one-hitter with seven strikeouts and only one walk allowed for a 15-1 win.

Megan Bell (3-for-4, 2 runs) and Jimenez (3-for-3, 3 RBI, 3 runs) had the hot at-bats for the victory.

The Bearcats will return to action (pending weather forecast) on Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. home contest against Sarah Lawrence College at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, New York.
