Baseball Drops Tough 13-12 Contest to St. Joseph's (Brooklyn)

The baseball team lost a high-scoring 13-12 contest to St. Joseph's University of Brooklyn on Friday afternoon at Verrazzano Babe Ruth League Field in Staten Island, New York.

The two teams combined for 25 runs on 31 hits in an absolute slugfest.

The first two innings featured no runs but the Bearcats scored three in the third to get the scoring going.

St. Joseph's scored three runs in the 4th, three more in the 5th, and six in the 6th inning to take command 12-4.

The Bearcats battled back in their final at-bat rallying with six runs on four hits and one error, but fell short 13-12.

Roy Longarzo led the Bearcats batting 4-for-5, with three RBI and two runs scored. He also added two stolen bases.

Joseph Cocozza and Pedro Tejada, Jr. had two RBI each.

Sean Schneeber led St. Joseph's batting 4-for-5, with a homer, three RBI, and three runs scored.
