SAAC Participates in Staten Island Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) continues their fundraising efforts for the Special Olympics.

Max Navarro of the tennis team and Robert McMahon of baseball each participated this past Sunday, December 4, at the Polar Plunge that took place at The Vanderbilt/South Beach on Staten Island, New York.

Despite the chilly conditions, Max and Robert braved the conditions, while being cheered on by SAAC support. The plunge took place at Noon with the temperature at around 45 degrees.

"When we were driving over I was nervous and then we waited around on the sand in the cold," said McMahon. "However, once the event started, we could feel the support and we took the plunge. It was for a great cause and we had great time and experience doing it. I would do it again."

Great job Bearcats!
